iSchools Research Grants 2026

The iSchools organization maintains an annual research fund of 20.000 USD for the benefit of its members. This year's grant topic has been "Information Literacies, Authenticity and Use".

We are delighted to announce the recipients of the iSchools Research Grant 2026. This year’s call attracted 70 proposals from across the international iSchools community. The 2026 funding round focused on doctoral students and early-career researchers within eight years of completing their doctoral degree. All applicants were required to be affiliated with an iSchools member institution, with collaborative and international projects particularly encouraged.

Projects may receive up to USD 4,500 in funding and normally run for a maximum period of one year. The funded projects will begin on 1 January 2027 and conclude on 31 December 2027.

Each winning project will also receive one complimentary registration for the virtual component of iConference 2028, where the recipients will present their projects and preliminary findings to the international iSchools community.

Following a rigorous review process and an exceptionally close competition, the Research Grant Committee selected four projects from the 70 submitted proposals for funding through the iSchools Research Grant 2026.
