iCaucus Members Directory Nanjing University School of Information Management iCaucus China Asia Pacific Member Since 2011 Visit School About The School of Information Management is one of the pioneers in Information Management education in China. As the rapid development and constant outstanding performance, the school won high reputation both inside and outside the country. For example, the discipline named “Library, Information and Archive Management” represents the highest quality of LIS schools in China, which is voted as a candidate of world outstanding disciplines in National Outstanding Discipline Support Plan, and ranked A+ place in the discipline evaluation in China in 2017. Besides that, Information Science of our school is a National Key Discipline in 2007, “Library, Information and Archive Management” is a superiority discipline in Jiangsu Province in 2014. What’s more, our school plays a very important role in LIS community, it contains many steering academic organizations such as the Secretariat Office of Education Directive Committee for Professional Master of Publishing, the Strategy Consultant and Secretariat Office of Education for Secrecy Science, and so on. Since 1913, the more than 100 years’ history has seen the rapid development of our school. We first offered library courses in China in 1913, then set up departments in 1927. Yizheng Liu, Xiaoshi Hu, Zhongfan Chen, Kan Huang, Shi Gu, Nanyang Qian, Xiaoyuan Li, Youfeng Hong, Guojun Liu, Guoding Wan, Tingyong Shi, Zhiqian Dai, Jiazhi Zhu, Zhibai Gui and so on, who had taught here successively bringing the rich cultural heritage and tradition for the school. After the restoration of discipline construction in 1978, Zhusheng Xu, Zhiren Zou, Qi Huang, Guchao Shen and other successive leaders and deans, inherited the past and opened future, strengthened innovation step by step, highlighted our own characteristics, persevered in highlevel development. When coming into information era, we renamed our department as Information Management in 1992, upgraded into School of Information Management and joined the iSchools in 2011.In 2020, the school consists of more than 60 faculties and staffs, a number of leading scientists and more than 800 students. 3 Chang Jiang Scholars, 1 Academician of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and 1 Senior Professor of Nanjing University formed the leaders team of our school, and followed by another 11 outstanding professors who are voted as chairman or vice-chairman in various national academy boards. Recent years, more and more young elites who got PhD degrees abroad are rushing into our school, injecting fresh but dynamic and international energies into our school. A saying says that a tree has to strike a firm root before it can flourish. A river has to have a fully dredged source before it can flow unceasingly far, which implicated the philosophy and pedagogy of our school. The spirit of information management science is multidiscipline and application science, thus it has to integrate and merge computer science, information science , social science, management science and even humanity science into new knowledge to create new values and collaborative innovations. We are frequently promoted by the significant advances in information technology and widespread application of new business, accordingly we have to incorporate our professional curriculum design so that the subject knowledge is synchronized with the development of innovative technologies; we are always concerned with organizational and social changes and have the ability to respond to the needs of national strategies, policies, governance and operation, to provide think-tank services for our country in the strategic analysis, public policy research, intelligence work, etc. We are proud of the achievements we have made for the school, and are proud of the scholars who created history of the school in the past. We are grateful to the alumni and social colleagues who are always concerned about the development of our school. We also sincerely expect the young talents to come to apply a job and young students to come to study in our school and we will extend deepest welcome to you! iSchool Contacts Lei Pei Dean of School Contact Lele Kang Representative Contact Contact

Rooted in a re-examination of the Scottish Enlightenment—a movement that championed reason, education, inquiry, and civic progress—the 2026 theme challenges us to critically reflect on both the promise and limitations of these ideals. The Enlightenment catalysed revolutionary thinking about human potential and the organisation of knowledge, laying foundations for public libraries, encyclopaedias, scientific method, and democratic discourse. Yet, it also advanced progress through Eurocentric and exclusionary frameworks, marginalising voices through colonial, gendered, and class-based structures. This conference asks: how can we carry forward the Enlightenment’s commitment to learning and justice, while also confronting and redressing its embedded inequalities? How can information systems today promote not just efficiency and access, but authenticity, trust, equity, and inclusion? As digital infrastructures increasingly shape how we learn, communicate, govern, and remember, the iConference offers a space to explore what it means to be digitally literate and ethically informed. We welcome proposals that interrogate the ethical, social, political, and cultural dimensions of information—from AI and misinformation to decolonisation, community archives, open data, and digital storytelling. Submit your full and short papers, as well as panel, workshop, and symposia proposals, to contribute to this vital conversation. We also welcome work addressing broader issues relating to information, technology, and people, even beyond this year’s theme. Together, let us shape the discourse around digital authenticity and access—building a future where technology and information serve the goals of collective flourishing, justice, and an inclusive, digitally enlightened society. Key themes include: Digital literacy, digital fluency, and equitable access to information Authenticity and trust in the age of mis/disinformation and AI Decolonisation of knowledge and the ethics of information use Digital inclusion, accessibility, and universal design Cultural heritage, memory, and storytelling in digital contexts Community informatics, marginalised voices, and participatory design Open science, ethical metadata, and sustainable informatics AI and machine learning in libraries, archives, and education Information governance, digital rights, and platform accountability Digital and social media proxies, algorithms, and attention economies Playable archives, immersive experiences, and digital humanities Environmental sustainability and responsible innovation Indigenous knowledge, migration, and global perspectives on literacy Human understanding, robotics, and the future of digital education Copyright, intellectual property, and information use in the age of AI iConference 2026 topics may include but are not limited to: AI and Machine Learning Behavioral Research Archives and Information Sustainability Community Informatics Cultural Heritage, Archives & Museum Digital Humanities Digital Information Economy Disinformation & Misinformation Health Informatics Human-AI Collaboration Information & Digital Literacies Information Governance & Ethics Information Science & Data Science Information Retrieval Information Science Education Intellectual Property Bibliometrics & Metadata Libraries & Users Knowledge Management Scholarly Communication Open Access & Open Science Social Media & Digital Networks Call for Submissions Download CFP Timeline iConference iConference 2026 Sponsors iConference Proceedings 2026 will be published Open Access in Information Research

Also, an English version of the title and abstract of the paper is required. Short Spanish-Portuguese Research Papers The goal of the Short Research Papers in this track is to present new, provocative, and cross-cutting themes in a short paper submission. Short papers are more focused and succinct contributions to the research program and are likely to have a smaller scope of contribution than Full Research Papers. For example, short papers on applications design may not cover the entire iterative design cycle (observation, design, implementation, evaluation, etc.) but may instead go into depth in specific areas. Full Spanish-Portuguese Research Papers Full Research Papers should present new and original research results from empirical investigations and experiments, or from theory and model development. Full Papers must break new ground and provide substantial support for its results and conclusions. Papers presenting a new system design or implications for design are also encouraged. CI is a multidisciplinary field of research and practice bringing together academic and community partners using methods such as participatory action research. Collaborations with marginalized people whose community cultural wealth and traditional knowledge are especially sought to provide essential guidance to Western science as CI strives for community building and the socially “effective use” of Information and Communications Technologies for social good. CI is concerned with how ICT can be useful to the range of traditionally excluded populations and communities, and how it can support local economic development, social justice, and political empowerment using the Internet. CI is a point of convergence concerning the use of ICTs for diverse stakeholders, including community activists, nonprofit groups, policymakers, users/citizens, and the range of academics working across (and integrating) disciplines as diverse as Information Studies, Management, Computer Science, Social Work, Planning, and Development Studies.
