This Librarian will play a key role in leading the administration of the SpringShare platform. The Web Services Librarian will oversee the full suite of Springshare applications, ensuring strong accessibility, quality assurance, and user support, while working collaboratively with Technology Services, the Discovery Systems Librarian, and the User Experience Librarian to continually improve the Libraries’ web portfolio. The program emphasizes both research excellence and tangible impact. Impact+ Chairs will receive long-term funding and institutional support to advance ambitious and transformative projects in Canada’s strategic priority areas , build and maintain exceptional research teams, and collaborate with partners across sectors and borders. Impact+ chairholders are expected to drive the translation of discoveries into applications, commercialization and social and economic benefits for Canada and the world, while also developing the next generation of highly qualified personnel. The Impact+ program is a tri-agency initiative of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Rutgers University Application Deadline: May 1, 2026 The Library and Information Science (LIS) Department in the School of Communication and Information (SC&I) at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, seeks a professional and innovative full time non-tenure track (NTT) instructor to teach multiple sections of programming courses in the Information Technology and Informatics program, with an emphasis on Python programming fundamentals, data engineering, and data science. All courses are taught on the Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus, conveniently located with easy access to transit options through downtown New Brunswick. In addition to teaching multiple sections of the course, this position will contribute to the success of the IT & Informatics major through activities such as student advising, course and curriculum management, and peer teaching evaluations. - Prof. Ken Fleischmann to Lead the iSchool as Chair Designate and Interim Dean
Effective February 1 of this year, Prof. Ken Fleischmann will take the reins as incoming leader of the iSchool, leading the unit into its next phase. Fleischmann is a trusted and familiar face at the iSchool, a cutting-edge researcher on human-centered AI,and an experienced administrator at the iSchool and beyond. Prof. Ken Fleischmann Fleischmann takes the baton from outgoing Interim Dean Soo Young Rieh, who will remain a key part of the community as a faculty member. Fleischmann’s new title, chair designate and interim dean, reflects UT’s proposal , currently under consideration by the UT System Board of Regents, to connect the iSchool with the departments of computer science and data science in a new “center of excellence” housed in the College of Natural Sciences. “I am looking forward to working with the iSchool community to make the most of the opportunities that are ahead of us,” Fleischmann says. “I am confident that the future of the iSchool is bright and that we will be able to continue to build on the excellence of our academic and research programs.” Fleischmann is perhaps best known around UT as founding chair of Good Systems , a UT Grand Challenge interdisciplinary effort that is the key hub for ethical AI research, partnerships and collaboration on campus. He was also the founding director of undergraduate studies for the iSchool's B.A./B.S. program in Informatics, and he currently serves both as interim associate dean for research and as director of doctoral studies at the iSchool. In their email introducing Fleischmann’s new role, Provost William Inboden and Dean of the College of Natural Sciences David Vanden Bout credited his ability to provide stability and leadership throughout and beyond the planning phase of the proposed new school and his experience leading major initiatives at the iSchool, University and international levels.
