The School of Information Sciences (iSchool) at the University of Illinois invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. We welcome applications in the broad areas of artificial intelligence (AI), including but not limited to:

  • foundation models

  • AI for social good, social justice, and social change

  • human-AI interaction

  • machine learning (e.g., deep learning)

  • natural language processing

  • trustworthy AI, explainable AI, automated methods that support the FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) and / or FATE (fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics)

  • data / text mining, graph mining

  • data ethics

  • data storytelling

  • domain informed data science

  • knowledge representation

  • network science * data science

We also offer professional master’s programs in information management and bioinformatics, a licensure program in school librarianship, as well as an exciting undergraduate degree that reimagines a liberal arts education for a global information society. Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic position, appointed on a 9-month basis. The expected start date is August 16, 2024. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
