The College of Communication and Information at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Instructional Communication with an anticipated start date of either January 1, 2026, or August 15, 2026 depending on the candidate’s availability.
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Duties include teaching four courses per semester. Courses taught may include required courses for undergraduates in composition and communication (CISÂ 110 Composition and Communication I, CISÂ 111 Composition and Communication II, CISÂ 112 Accelerated Composition and Communication) as well as business communication (CIS 300 Strategic and Business and Professional Communication). Each course has a course coordinator who develops the base course syllabus and Canvas shell for use by all instructors. Additionally, ICRÂ has a Program Coordinator who helps support all faculty.
The typical nine-month appointment runs from August 16 to May 15 each year. The initial term for lecturers is for one year. The appointment may be renewed for additional terms based on the program needs, funding ability, and candidate performance. A terminal degree or a master’s degree in Communication or related areas and relevant professional experience are required; college-level teaching experience is preferred.
