Atsuyuki Morishima Appointed iSchools Ambassador for the Asia-Pacific Region

We are delighted to announce that the iSchool Board of Directors appointed Atsuyuki Morishima as Ambassador for the Asia-Pacific Region.

 


Atsuyuki Morishima

Atsuyuki Morishima is Dean of the Institute of Library, Information and Media Science, University of Tsukuba in Japan and served as the iSchools Asia-Pacific Regional Chair from 2022-2025. During his time as AP Regional Chair, he established various initiatives, communities, and projects and co-hosted iConference 2024 with Jilin University in China. 




As a former member of the Board of Directors, he provided constructive and well‑reasoned feedback that meaningfully supported the Organization’s governance. His active participation in the Bylaws Revision Committee further reflects the important role he played in strengthening the Organization’s governance framework. 

 

Atsuyuki Morishima brings an exceptional wealth of experience to the Organization, paired with a deep and enduring commitment to advancing the iSchools’ presence in the Asia-Pacific region. His longstanding engagement, proven leadership, and extensive international connections make him not only well positioned to serve as an iSchools Ambassador, but truly invaluable to the continued growth and visibility of the Organization. 


In his new role, Atsuyuki Morishima will help broaden the iSchools network in the region and strengthen the Organization’s international presence. By fostering connections and representing the iSchools globally, he will support an area of work that is increasingly important to the Organization’s long‑term growth.
