Love people? Love technology? You’ll fit in perfectly. Information science is the study of the relationships between people, places and technology and how they are intertwined. Our data-driven, interdisciplinary approach—drawing on social science, computer science and the humanities—allows students to develop the conceptual understanding and practical skills needed to succeed in a future characterized by new ways of working, communicating and creating. A degree in information science enables students to imagine what technology makes possible, invent new ways to use technology and positively impact the world. Housed within CU Boulder’s College of Media, Communication and Information, our department is proud to cultivate an inclusive community of scholars who share a commitment to excellence and innovation in research and teaching. Our research program is exceptionally strong in human-computer interaction, data science and social and collaborative computing, and our faculty expertise covers a broad range of areas including information visualization, machine learning, technology ethics, health informatics education and learning and more. We welcome graduate students from a range of backgrounds, such as computer science, social science and quantitative research. iCaucus Members Directory Shanghai University School of Cultural Heritage and Information Management iCaucus China Asia Pacific Member Since 2019 Visit School About Being a municipal university included in national “Project 211”, SHU is jointly constructed by the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. SHU is among the first batch of pilot projects of high-level university construction in Shanghai, and is one of the universities that focus on building their preponderant disciplines into first-rate ones on the list of the Ministry of Education. The School of Cultural Heritage and Information Management of Shanghai University was formally established on December 6, 2021, based on the Department of Library, Information and Archives of Shanghai University, the Major of Archaeology of the College of Arts, and the Basic Science Research Institute of Cultural Heritage Protection. At present, the college has 5 national talents, 10 provincial and ministerial talents, and 5 of them are the chief scientists of 973, the chief experts of the national key research and development program, and the chief experts of the national Social science Fund major projects. One serves as the vice chairman of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the vice chairman of the China Association of Museums; two serve as the vice chairman of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Institutions of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education; and one serves as the vice chairman of the China Association of Cultural Relics Protection Technology. Basic Members Directory Hacettepe University Department of Information Management Basic Turkey Europe Member Since 2015 Visit School About The Information and Records Management Department was established in 1972 under the name of Library and Documentation Institute. The Department, which admitted its first students to the undergraduate program in October 1974, has created a different model from other librarianship departments due to its formation characteristics and the reasons foreseen by the university. The five-year undergraduate program underwent a structural change in 1993, and was divided into the departments of Librarianship, Archiving, Documentation, and Information. Starting from the 2002/2003 academic year, the Departments of Librarianship, Archiving, Documentation, and Information were combined. The Department of Librarianship has started its educational activities under the name of Information and Document Management Department with a new program. From the outset, the department has adopted an interdisciplinary approach in both teaching and research. Since its involvement in teaching, the department has aimed to create an academic and intellectual environment that will provide its students with the best professional knowledge in theory and practice problems.
