The Department of Information Science in Drexel University’s College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) invites applications to our PhD program for Fall 2024. PhD students will have the opportunity to work with leading faculty on diverse topics related to human-centered computing (HCC), artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and library and information science (LIS).
Several CCI faculty members are recruiting PhD students for Fall 2024 in the following areas:

The Information Science Department at Drexel is an ideal environment to pursue an interdisciplinary PhD that examines the intersection of information, technology and people. Information Science faculty bring diverse training to their research, with PhDs in a range of disciplines, including anthropology, psychology, library and information science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, and others.
The College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) is uniquely positioned as an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial research and education leader for the 21st century. CCI’s two departments, Information Science and Computer Science, complement each other to offer trailblazing research and education. In recent years, CCI has experienced substantial enrollment growth, recruited new faculty, and introduced new programs in Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Business Information Technology (in partnership with the LeBow College of Business). CCI occupies two-and-one-half floors in a brand-new building, constructed in 2019, offering state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, meeting areas, collaboration spaces, and a maker space.
Drexel University is also home to interdisciplinary research centers and institutes where students find additional opportunities for mentorship and scholarly engagement.
