About
Applied Informatics research at Edinburgh Napier University creates knowledge in a
range of domains including libraries and archives, community representation, skills
development, and the Metaverse. It also develops methods to support research in
these diverse areas.
The Social Informatics Research Group (https://blogs.napier.ac.uk/social-
informatics/#.Y_jdUHbP1D8) focuses on digital engagement, information and digital
literacies, information behaviours and practices, information and knowledge
management, and information organisation. The Interaction Design Research Group
explores interactive digital products, environments, systems and services through a
design-led approach that addresses the space connecting people, technology and
context. It uses the innovative E11 Studio (https://e11.studio/) to research creativity,
data and digital technologies.Â
Applied Informatics sits within the School of Computing, Engineering, & the Built
