Department of Information Sciences of the University of Zadar, Croatia, is conducting research and developing study programs at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels in the field of information sciences. The doctoral study programme Knowledge society and information transfer is one of the two doctoral study programs available in Croatia, and has been successful in producing a number of exceptional doctoral theses. Our study programs address the whole field of information sciences, particularly theory and practice of organizing, managing, sharing, evaluating, and using information, user studies, information literacy, academic communication and open science, human-computer interaction, data science, cultural heritage, as well as digital humanities and digital transformation of GLAM institutions and the role of information in contemporary society.

The Department facilitates and actively supports collaboration and synergy between academics, students, and stakeholders, mainly through laboratories (specifically the UX Lab), scientific centers, research projects and cooperation with (inter)national partners.
