The College of Information – Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas provides and supports resources, research, and service for education and leadership to the information science, library science, and health informatics communities. We prepare information professionals of the highest quality to serve dynamic roles in the state, the nation, and the world. In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Information Science degree, the department offers a Master of Science with majors in Library Science or Information Science and a Master of Science in Health Informatics. The M.S. in Library Science or Information Science program is ALA-accredited and nationally ranked. Students may choose from eight concentrations including the Health Librarianship concentration ranked 6th in the nation. The Department also offers a Ph.D. in Information Science, School Librarian Certification, and opportunities to earn graduate certificates in several areas.
