About
The Degree in Information and Documentation is taught in the Faculty of Communication and Documentation. The Faculty has its origins in the University School of Library and Information Science and Documentation which, in the 1980s, was the first in Spain to offer the Diploma in Library and Information Science and Documentation at university level. In 1994, following the introduction of the Bachelor's Degree in Documentation, the School was transformed into a Faculty. In the 2006/07 academic year, the educational offer was expanded with the implementation of the second cycle of studies leading to the degree in Audio-visual Communication, which has led to a new name, becoming the Faculty of Communication and Documentation. In all the degrees, the dominant characteristic is the strong technological profile of the curricula, which is why the Faculty is equipped with a good technological and audio-visual infrastructure. In The 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), in Library and Information Science, we are ranked first in Spain, third in Europe and thirty-eighth worldwide.
