Training the Information Professionals of Tomorrow
The ever-increasing pace of technological innovation requires a more information-savvy workforce that understands not only the intricacies of technology and data, but how to apply that knowledge.
We offer 9 academic programs along with a number of certificates. Our students are trained to become specialists in information management, data analysis, artificial intelligence, librarianship, social media marketing, and much more. We are preparing our graduates across disciplines to be doers, thinkers, solvers, and game-changers.
Interdisciplinary Faculty Expertise
The School of Information is a multidisciplinary department where faculty focus on the many aspects of information and its impact on society, using a variety of methodologies. Faculty focused on computational science and management information systems work side-by-side with those focused on issues of information behavior, and societal change.
Our faculty conduct research in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, biodiversity informatics, data management and curation, computer vision, computer-mediated communication and learning, natural language processing, social networking, human-computer interfaces, dark networks, computational art and creation, library sciences, and much more.
