Syracuse University Ph.D. student Shuyuan Mary Ho wins travel award for SBP09
Ph.D. student Shuyuan Mary Ho received the Student-Author Participant Award to attend the Second International Workshop on Social Computing, Behavioral Modeling, and Prediction (SBP09) in Phoenix, Arizona, this spring. She will present her paper, “A Socio-Technical Approach to Understanding Perceptions of Trustworthiness in Virtual Organizations” during one of the conference sessions.
The interdisciplinary workshop brings together government, industry, and academic participants to exchange ideas and research about social behavior and social context on computational systems. The group representing such field as information science, sociology, behavioral science, computer science, and cultural studies will look at how Internet and computing technologies create new social environments that affect the way governments, organizations, and individuals interact with each other.
