BOOST receives Chancellor’s Award for Public Engagement

Syracuse School of Information Studies (iSchool) students involved with BOOST (Bolstering Original Opportunity and Self through Technology) initiative have been selected to receive a Chancellor’s Award for Public Engagement and Scholarship for improving the quality of life in the greater Syracuse community.

BOOST Initiative, which receives funding from the Kauffman Foundation, is a joint effort between the Women’s Opportunity Center of Syracuse and WIT (Women in Information Technology), an iSchool student organization. Launched last spring, BOOST members create, test, and implement a curriculum designed to give Syracuse area women the skills needed to re-enter the workplace or to start their own businesses.
