Who are the iSchools?
University of Washington Information School
University of Washington Information School is a community grounded in the belief that information and information technologies profoundly influence the quality of people's lives. The interaction of people with information and technology pervade every aspect of our research, teaching, and service.
We believe in the power of information. We work to ensure that all people have access to the information and technology resources, skills, systems, and services that they need to succeed. We evaluate, design, build, and augment services and technologies that people use when they create, seek, use, share and manage information. Our goal is to help people more effectively use information to complete tasks, achieve goals and enjoy life. Our strengths reside in a shared dedication to rigorous research that improves society and makes a difference.
The Information School is about changing lives for the better -- through information. Our community is dedicated to living what we study, teach, and share. This means that a collaborative culture is central to our work. The Information School is based on inclusiveness, relationships, and connections -- within the school, on the University of Washington campus, and in the broader community.
