Meet the iSchools
Drexel University College of Information Science and Technology
The iSchool at Drexel University focuses on means to provide people with the information they need. We strive to understand people, their information needs and their capabilities; information, how it is structured, stored, and presented; and technology, how it can bridge the gap between people and information.
We are a college that provides the student with a foundation for understanding, developing, and operating information systems, services, and products -- including information creation, organization, communication, processing, and storage, as well as the technical, social, and human context in which information professionals operate. We relate fundamental concepts to practical applications, and provide the student with the necessary skills to function as a responsive professional in a variety of specialized roles.
With the goal of empowering people and society through information. we:
• educate professionals skilled at using information and information technology to elevate and to advance the agendas of individuals, groups, and society
