Essential Vehicle Parking Information for i Conference 2008

We highly encourage i Conference attendees to use transportation we are providing between hotels and the UCLA Conference Center. A few hotels, such as the UCLA Guest House and Tiverton, are within a “long” walking distance. As with most universities, UCLA parking is very tightly controlled. If you are driving on campus at any time, including UCLA faculty and students, PLEASE read the following closely.

In order to avoid a parking citation at the UCLA Sunset Village Conference Center, you MUST have an appropriate UCLA parking permit at all times.

Please note: Parking is generally available on the lower levels of the Sunset Village Conference Center parking lot, and seldom on the first level. After entering the Sunset Village parking lot, turn right at your first opportunity, not left. Elevators to the conference center are location on the Southwest section of the parking structure.

Conference Attendees without a monthly UCLA permit (including all visitors).
In order to park at the Sunset Village Conference Center, you must purchase a one-day parking permit at a UCLA parking kiosk. The closest kiosk to the conference center is in Parking Lot 4, underground. A one-day permit is $8.00 and is not reimbursed by
iConference 2008. Once you purchase a Sunset Village Conference Center parking permit, you may proceed to the Sunset Village parking lot. Note that permits expire at the end of each day. Do not park your car overnight at the Sunset Village Conference Center.

For UCLA monthly permit holders, please see below:

Conference Attendees with a YELLOW UCLA parking permit. Yellow parking permits are not valid at the Sunset Village Conference Center. You may receive a transfer one-day permit by going to a UCLA parking kiosk and obtaining a Sunset Village Conference Center parking permit.

Conference Attendees with a BLUE UCLA Parking Permit. You may park your vehicle at the Sunset Village Conference Center.

Reminder of Parking at the Getty on February 29th

A reminder that advanced reservations are required to park any car or vehicle at the Getty Museum. The deadline for vehicle reservations for the i Conference Getty event was February 15th. If you have not yet made a car or vehicle reservation, please send a note immediately to Angela De Cenzo at decenzo@cse.ucla.edu and we will attempt to obtain a reservation.

When arriving at the Getty, mention that you are attending the i Schools Conference for entrance. We highly encourage everyone to use the bus transportation provided from the UCLA Conference Center to the Getty. Thank you.

DIRECTIONS

From the North, traveling Southbound on the 405 FWY (Valley)

Exit Sunset Blvd.
Off the Exit, make a Left turn (Church Lane)
On next signal, Sunset Blvd. make another Left turn
Travel approx 1.6 miles.
On Westwood Plaza, make a Right turn (If you hit Royce Dr, you've gone too far)
Proceed straight to the underground Parking Structure for Lot 4 to the Parking Info Booth where you can purchase a parking permit

From the South, traveling Northbound on the 405 FWY (Or LAX Airport)

Take 405 North (San Diego Freeway)
Exit Sunset Blvd.
Off the Exit, make a Right turn at Sunset Blvd.
Travel approx 1.6 miles.
On Westwood Plaza, make a Right turn (If you hit Royce Dr, you've gone too far)
Proceed straight to the underground Parking Structure for Lot 4 to the Parking Info Booth

From the East, traveling Westbound on the 10 FWY (Downtown LA)

Take 10 West (Santa Monica Freeway)
Take 405 North (San Diego Freeway)
Exit Sunset Blvd.
Off the Exit, make a Left turn
On next signal, Sunset Blvd. make another Left turn
Travel approx 1.6 miles.
On Westwood Plaza, make a Right turn (If you hit Royce Dr, you've gone too far)
Proceed straight to the underground Parking Structure for Lot 4 to the Parking Info Booth
